The competitors came from miles around to compete in the first ever BHLISA Pro Am Bocce tournament (Bruno Invitational 2022).
It was a great day for Bocce and the weather was beautiful. After a wonderful breakfast put on by Super Fan Heather, teams were chosen, and the tourney was underway. A big shout out to Koks who provided the Swag for the tourney and Bob for the Pro Am Clavet Cup!
There was a brief interruption in the action as the unofficial mascot of the BHLISA league, the Rolling Rock Beer Ape made an appearance. The Beer Ape dancing and singing began firing out icy cold Rolling Rock beers to the competitors who were very grateful for the refreshments.
Numerous memories and stories were told throughout the day as the competitors reminisced about great times past.
Competition was fierce. Most memorable: Byno calling a foot foul on on a competitor who has vision problems but could really sniff out that Boch. BHLISA will review this etiquette in the spring meeting 2023.
Bruno / Gert could not muster much up for winning and resorted to the fact they were better at drinking beer.
Foo was animated from the time he woke up, had his Friesen ass kicking shorts on and was calling him out all day. Unfortunately, Foo never got a chance to take a crack at Friesen. To date we are not sure if Friesen was ducking Foo or it was just coincidence.
After the round robin Foo / Koks came out on top at 5 and 1. Looking good for a tourney win.

In the end it was Horn / Byno taking home the coveted new Pro Am trophy.
A great event in which BHLISA intends on making an annual tradition. BHLISA is currently in negotiations with Rolling Rock and the Beer Apes agent to work out contract details for next year. We’ll keep you posted.
